Southam Primary School Council- Charity of the Year Project
As a school we would like to raise money during this year to support a charity. But we need to decide on which charity to support.
In your class you need to decide on which charity you feel our school should support.
To do this you will need to research charities, discuss which charities the children in your class feel that would like to support and the reasons for this. Then finally agree which charity your class would like to support.
You will then need to nominate some spokespeople from your class, who will talk to the rest of the school about your charity, giving reasons for why everyone in the school should fund raise for it.
Each class will then have the opportunity to present their nominated charity to the rest of the school.
After everyone has heard all the nominations and the reasons for supporting the charity, as a school we will vote to decide which charity we would like to support.
Once we have decided on the charity we are going to support this year, the school council will write to the charity and ask if someone from the charity could come in to school to talk to everyone about the work that they do and how any money that we raise will be used.
During the year you and your class will then need to organise some fund raising events to raise money for the charity.
