Cross Country Race- Hatton Country World

Saturday went well for Southam as our team raced to the front of the league at Hatton Country World. It was a long track and the whole team did incredibly well. Unfortunately for Max he had an injury but still took part and finished in 16th place. Sam was so close to gaining a medal by being one place from the top three but 4th place is an outstanding achievement as he beat his previous place by four places! Well done to everyone that took part in the extremely exhausting race.

Swimming Gala

On Tuesday 12th April 2016 some of our year five and six children went to Southam Leisure Centre to compete in a swimming gala.

There were seven schools competing, including Southam, Primary, Long Itchington, Priors Marston, St Marys, St James, Stockton and Napton.

All of us did very well, mostly coming 1st or 2nd in our races. We are very proud of everyone who took part in the competition and we hope we do just as well next time. There is a final in Stratford on the 21st May and we are hoping that we will be competing there.

The competition involved the children competing against 6 other schools taking part in a range of events from Javelin to long jump against children from the other local schools. The stunning performances that the children made resulted in Southam Primary coming second overall.

Congratulations to all our athletes – we are all very proud of you!

Many thanks to Miss Heap for organising this event and also to our wonderful parent helpers who accompanied the children to the event.
