Reading at Southam Primary School
Evidence tells us that children who read every day perform significantly better throughout their education than those who don’t. Children also develop a broader vocabulary, increased general knowledge and a better understanding of other cultures and the world around them.
In fact, reading is more likely to determine whether a child will do well at school!
Recently, 300 books have been recommended to be read across the different phases of primary education. How many of the books have you read? Have you shared any of them with your child? Christmas will soon be upon us, maybe look through the list for some present ideas!
These book recommendations will be displayed around the school and children encouraged to read from the list too.
The book lists can be found on the school website http://www.southamprimary.com/reading-projects/
